Meet The Team

Originally from Oxfordshire, UK, Gill has lived all over Europe, from Estonia, Russia and Georgia to Scotland, Belgium and, finally, Austria. His love of Europe began at an early age, after being inspired by the variety of languages in Europe. A linguist at heart, but a political and social scientist in mind, he has dedicated his life to the study of Europe, its peoples, languages, history, systems of government, and ideologies.

An expert on peace and security in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Jakša primarily focuses on sovereignty, regional secessionism, and conflicts involving breakaway regions. Originally from Slovenia, he gained experience in nine countries, having studied in France, the UK, and the US and worked as a researcher and analyst for universities, think tanks, NATO, the OSCE, and the UN.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Stephen has lived in Los Angeles, Berlin, and Vienna. His main research interests centre on developmental programmes, innovation policies, comparative politics, and election analysis.
